- Welcome New Neighbors! - After several attempts to meet our new south-end neighbors, I was finally successful on this nice sunny day. Adelle and Kirby Drawbaugh moved to Lake Desire from Fairwood. Although semi-retired (they had both previously retired from Valley Medical Center), they have the youthful vitality that is filled with passion in the challenges they undertake. In 1984 they sailed to Hawaii in a grand 42 foot wooden boat they had built with love and dedication by hand. They later donated their "inspiration" to the Wooden Boat Society.....and most recently found that it is sailing the south pacific with a great new owner. Kirby is into vintage automobiles and car racing at present, racing a 69 piper GTT. This fall, Kirby plans to swim from southern Spain to Tangier (Morocco). He is an accomplished "Iron Man" (marathon swim, run and bike event). They saw France "close up" on two bikes! Adelle likes to knit and do bead work while she is waiting for Kirby to tell her about their next challenge! What an interesting couple......and a great addition to our little community. Welcome! Please let me know of any new neighbors, new babies or ill friends that I need to bring some neighborhood greetings to. Thank you.
